About The Position
The Cradles to Crayons (C2C) Clinician provides delivery of clinical aspects of the program, specifically individual adult trauma therapy with parents who are involved with dependency cases through the juvenile court and child welfare system. These services involve face-to-face encounters intended to reduce maladaptive behaviors and functioning and restore the recipient to their best possible functioning level. These services primarily include direct treatment individually with parents who have experienced trauma and may be experiencing substance use issues. This position carries a low caseload and provides a variety of therapeutic interventions to support healing from trauma and other related diagnosis. To learn more about the C2C program, click here.

Position Qualifications

Education
- Master's degree in Counseling, Marital and Family Counseling, Social Work, or another closely related field.
- Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC)
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
- Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Valid Class D driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Two (2) years’ experience working in child welfare, substance abuse, and trauma, with adults.
- Experience and specialized training in trauma responsive care, trauma therapy interventions, substance use and attachment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Implementing interventions for the treatment of trauma including complex and relational trauma, domestic violence, and childhood abuse
- Effectively supporting and teaching positive coping skills, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and psycho-education on the effects of violence and trauma
- Evaluation of clients functioning
- Using positive strengths-based approach in working with individuals and families
- Establishing and maintaining working alliances with adolescent and adults
- Active listening and using basic problem-solving skills
- Working independently and cooperatively as part of a team
- Being sensitive and non-judgmental with clients involved in the child welfare system and/or who has been a victim of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and or childhood abuse
- Reflective supervision/consultation to support relationship with clients

- Conducts clinical assessments and intakes; develops diagnoses.
- Participates in developing person/family centered treatment plans in collaboration with the parent.
- Carries a caseload of clients with diverse needs.
- Monitors client progress and coordinates appropriate mental health and other needed services.
- Responsible for maintaining an electronic and paper file which includes required documentation of services provided, progress notes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and client rights documents.
- Participates in individual clinical and reflective supervision and team meetings to review progress, identify barriers, reflect on work with clients and develop strategies for better assisting families in reaching their goals.
- Conducts treatment plan reviews and participates in staffing to ensure clients receive all appropriate services within a reasonable timetable.
- Assures operational integration of clinical functions to achieve program success, high customer satisfaction, excellent patient care and safe operations.
- Responsible for clinical documentation and record keeping.
- Monitors quality assessment and performance improvement activities and provides coordination, and assistance in pursuing quality goals.
- Collaborates with other systems and the network of services providers.
- May provides training to staff members of the facility so that they can adhere to clinical best practices in the daily performance of their jobs.
