Summary/Objective
The Training and Development Manager is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

Travel expected: 50% to site locations.
Supervisory Responsibility
No current supervisory responsibilities but must effectively influence and collaborate with on-site managers to achieve training objectives.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salary exempt position. Hours of work are general Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. 40 hours per week. Some additional hours are expected.

$80,000 - $120,000 with up to 20% bonus potential

This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts annual training and development needs assessment, evaluating current training programs and delivery methods at all facilities (Paycor HRIS).
- Develops training and development objectives and programs, focusing on Customer Centricity.
- Administers spending against the departmental budget.
- Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
- Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
- Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
- Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Modifies programs as needed.
- Exemplifies the desired “Company Like a Friend” culture and “Customer Centric” philosophies of the organization.
- Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience.
- Three to five years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs or relevant industry experience.
- Three to five years of experience in customer service, plastics distribution, or semi-finished plastics industry preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
- Must be an engaged team player, willing to work with multiple cultures as well as the business and strategy leaders of the company
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be self-motivated, dynamic and action-oriented, determined to improve the productivity of employees.
