Overview
The Behavioral Health Counselor provides direct care services to patients receiving care on the inpatient behavioral health unit. They are an active member of a treatment team and is responsible for the planning of individualized, age specific needs-based programming for assigned patients. Will facilitate individual and family support sessions, psychoeducational groups, monitors program milieu, completes medical record documentation, and assists with crisis and safety plans for behavioral health inpatients. May at times be required to complete Mental Health worker duties including safety checks and 1:1 patient observation.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in health related sciences
- Experience or training in mental health care, including knowledge of PTSD care and behavioral health principles.
- Crisis management training within 90 days of hire.
