Position Summary/Department Summary:
This full-time LICSW position is part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team within the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. The social worker will serve a key role in the outpatient Eating Disorders Program, providing clinical care and case coordination to adolescents and young adults with eating disorder diagnoses in an integrated, fast-paced medical setting.

This full-time LICSW position is part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team within the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. The social worker will serve a key role in the outpatient Eating Disorders Program, providing clinical care and case coordination to adolescents and young adults with eating disorder diagnoses in an integrated, fast-paced medical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting psychosocial evaluations for patients presenting with eating disorder symptoms
- Providing ongoing individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Supporting patients and families with intensive care coordination, service navigation, care team collaboration, resource information, referrals, and crisis intervention as needed
- Collaborating closely with medical, nutrition, and mental health colleagues as part of a comprehensive care team
- Participating in interdisciplinary case consultation and care coordination
- Contributing one weekly 4-hour daytime shift to the outpatient Adolescent/Young Adult Clinic’s mental health on-call service
Education:
- Master’s degree in social work
- Prior clinical experience working with adolescents/young adults with eating disorders strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical assessment and therapeutic care to medically and psychiatrically complex patients
- Knowledge and experience with Massachusetts based human services and community resources
- Excellent communication and writing skills; flexibility and capacity to thrive in a collaborative team-based environment
- Experience in medical settings preferred
- Bilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to apply, Spanish fluency a plus
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, with private space for telehealth and on-site availability at least twice per week
- Availability to work at minimum one evening per week
- LICSW licensure in the state of MA is required
