The Psychiatric Social Worker is a member of an interdisciplinary team who provides direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention and psychoeducation to members and/or family members. Majority of role entails direct patient care. Familiar with all aspects of psychopathology and recognize the appropriate and timely clinical treatment intervention needed. May work with specific age group as is determined by training and certificate. Assists the department leadership on various department functions including, but not limited to department performance improvement plan, development of care management programs and process, development of education plan and training of staff and performs clinical record audits. Works closely and in collaboration with Psychiatrist in developing programs related to mental health. Participates in departmental functions such as staff meetings, staff in-services, and committees as assigned.

- Ability to provide consultation and instruction to staff regarding their assessment, intervention, planning and evaluation of cases.
- Appropriate selection of treatment modality to members presenting problem
- Demonstrates expertise in a variety of treatment methodologies
- Appropriate differentiation of treatment, interventions, and management for mental health and addiction related diseases
- Knowledge with regulatory agency requirements, legal, policies, and protocols.
- Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
- Independent performer and provides appropriate and timely documentation of clinical encounters in members charts
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Provides clinical consultation in an integrated health care environment regarding family interactions, social determinants, and community resources.

- Familiar with and have expertise in a variety of treatment modalities.
Required:
- Active California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners
- Master’s Degree from an Accredited School of Social Work.
- 2 or more years of experience as an LCSW.
- Received certificate of completion in Columbia Suicide Severity Rate Scale (C-SSRS) within 6 months of employment
- Must obtain LA City Fire Card within 6 months of employment (PHGSH Only)
- 2 or more years of experience in healthcare
- 1 or more years of experience working with mental health patients
- 1 or more years of experience working in addiction and substance abuse
