If so, we are looking for you!FULLTIME DIRECT CARE COUNSELOR AWAKE OVERNIGHTS at our CIRCLE OF COURAGE YOUTH PROGRAM, WILLMAR, MN*Direct Care Counselor Awake Overnights: $20-24.04/hr (DOE) with additional .50 cents for overnightsJOB ACTIVITIES:
  • Provide one on one services to our children and group supervision/structure.
  • Attend case staffing’s in a team environment and trainings.
  • We encourage people to be active in the community.
  • Documentation of your services is important.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be 21 years or older to apply and a valid driver's license.
  • At least five years driving experience with minimal to no traffic violations.
  • Starting wage is $20-24.04/per hour depending on education and/or experience.
  • Schedule will be approximately 27 hours in 2 weeks which include overnight hours from 10pm-7am rotating including every other weekend. One week shift will be Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Second week shift will be Wednesday and Thursday. Some contact with residents due to behaviors/incidents or early am wake up times for school.
  • The position consists of house cleaning, organizing, laundry, restoking of needed items and bed checks twice per hour for the extent of the shift.
  • Medication administration/training is required. Administering is on an as needed basis.
  • May also be required to work shifts for other overnight staff when needed.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children and families experiencing mental health issues in a direct care/counseling role.
  • Primary duties include supervision and support services to our Shelter Care children, skill building services and supervision/structure to children while they are place in our group home.

  • Familiar with a variety of counseling techniques and theories to aid in trauma care and treatment of individuals with mental health needs such as: behavior modifications for children, child development education, communication, decision-making skills, anger management, social skills, leisure, self-esteem and basic home budgeting. We take a (TRBI) Trust Based Relational Intervention approach.
  • Must be able to navigate through communities in which we are operating safely and efficient. Ability to program a GPS or read maps accordingly to find correct locations for pick-up and drop off. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance to ensure safe operation at all times.
