Job purpose:

Provide technical assistance, training, and matrix supervision in the development and implementation of behavior management plans of all therapeutic, vocational, residential, and in-home services staff.

Implement a behavior program delivery system, which meets the requirements of the DDS Program Review Committee.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Autism-Waiver staff to obtain and support referrals.
  • Provide ongoing training to staff in the areas of programming strategies, behavior plan development, intervention techniques, data collection, report writing, and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Supervise Bachelor and Graduate level interns.
  • Provide clinical supervision to meet Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements for staff pursuing credentialing.
  • Receive direct supervision from the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Schedule program time with the agency's vocational training programs, supported employment programs, community experience programs and residential programs to develop, implement and monitor the status of positive behavior programs and active treatment.
  • Develop specialized behavioral programs for appropriate individuals, children, and family members with the assistance of the appropriate program staff to ensure compliance with funding sources and ICF guidelines.
  • Develop with the assistance of the appropriate program staff, behavioral programs for individuals on caseload.
  • Maintain accurate individual records, plans, and data collection according to agency standards.
  • Develop and present DDS Program Review Committee presentations and responses.
  • Monitor appropriate implementation of behavioral plans and accompanying data collection results.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports documenting trends in behavior incidents, the types of program strategies being used, and the types of crisis plans being used.
  • Work in conjunction with DDS and DMH community crisis teams to implement individual programs.
  • Act as primary liaison to area school systems, funding sources, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other rehabilitation behaviorists.
  • Develop, organize and write comprehensive and articulate behavioral support plans.
  • Assist in the development of research proposals and conference presentations.
  • Chair the Behavior Review and Behavior Plan-Human Rights Review Committee.
  • Apply for and obtain insurance vendor numbers and obtain contracts throughout the year.
  • Create and co-lead a marketing plan to obtain individual contracts throughout the year.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Special Education, or related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Four years of experience within Behavioral Health Services and/or with persons with autism.
  • Four years of experience developing behavioral programs for persons with disabilities.
  • Valid Driver’s License and must maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • Possession of a car on-site during an entire shift to transport self and/or individuals to community sites.
  • Depending upon the assignment must be able to work in a variety of settings, weather conditions, and locations.
  • Must maintain PMT and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office and the internet.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Communicate clearly in oral and written form on a constant basis.
  • Work independently; utilize good judgment and possess a strong sense of initiative.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Move and lift weights up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis
  • Requires frequent viewing of computer screen, continual eye coordination and hand/wrist movement and finger manipulation
