Job Type: Full-Time, Day Shift, Monday-Friday
Schedule: School-Day Hours (Monday–Friday) (Follows school year schedule)
Start Date: August 2025 (Training begins in July!)

✨ What You’ll Do: As a Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) Counselor, you will work directly in either elementary, middle, or high schools, providing individual and group counseling, crisis support, and behavioral interventions for students facing emotional and behavioral challenges. You’ll collaborate with school staff and families to help students succeed – academically, socially, and emotionally.
THERAPEUTIC DAY TREATMENT (TDT) is a program grounded in evidenced-based treatment methods aimed to develop positive feelings about the youth’s school environment, improve academic performance, develop family and community support, decrease school absences, and improve prosocial skills to prevent school dropout. Therapeutic techniques are utilized to address and change negative thought patterns, reduce anxiety, manage stress, and stabilize mood and behaviors.
✨ Who We’re Looking For/Qualifications:
- QMHP-C or QMHP-T credentialed, OR eligible to obtain QMHP by July 31, 2025
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s a plus!) (Degrees are now flexible)
- Ability to pass background and CPS checks
- Negative Tuberculosis test/screening
- Must hold a good driving record, current driver’s license, and current auto insurance policy
- Experience working with children/adolescents in a school, mental health, or behavioral setting (not a requirement but a plus)
- Passionate, reliable, and ready to make an impact every day
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide school-based individual and group counseling services
- Develop and implement behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff
- Maintain documentation and treatment plans
- Support students in crisis or with behavioral/emotional challenges
- Help youth develop coping, social, and problem-solving skills
- Provide therapeutic related activities to youth and families for increased school success
- Provide advocacy work with schools, courts, and other social service agencies.
- Attend individual and group supervisions
