POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to provide direct care to a variety of children and adolescents and their families, including court ordered youth, through clinical service such as individual, group and family therapy, to facilitate attainment of improved mental health and more effective social and family functioning. This position acts as a primary therapist and case manager within a multidisciplinary team. This position involves primarily working on the IMPACT program and Evaluation Unit. This position will also conduct psychological testing for these units.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master’s degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university in a program acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Experience: None.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess experience working with adolescents with emotional disabilities and court involved youth.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Prior to being appointed, candidates for this classification must apply to the Board of Examiners of Psychologists for an exemption from licensure. Failure to obtain an exemption within six months of employment will result in termination, unless the Board grants an extension.
