About the Role:

The PRP Counselor plays a crucial role in providing personalized recovery-oriented services to individuals with mental health challenges. This position focuses on developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that promote the well-being and independence of clients. The counselor will work collaboratively with clients to set achievable goals and provide ongoing support throughout their recovery journey. By fostering a supportive and empathetic environment, the PRP Counselor helps clients navigate their challenges and access necessary resources. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to empower clients to lead fulfilling lives while managing their mental health effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Two years experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
  • Previous experience working in team sports, coaching, or fitness program with children, adolescents or young adults.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a community mental health setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with recovery-oriented practices and principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support clients in their recovery process 4-6 times per month in the community and office settings.
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to facilitate holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Skills:

The required skills for this role include strong communication and interpersonal abilities, which are essential for building rapport with clients and facilitating effective counseling sessions. Problem-solving skills are utilized daily to address clients' unique challenges and to adapt treatment plans as needed. Empathy and active listening are critical in understanding clients' experiences and fostering a supportive environment. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of community resources, enhance the counselor's ability to connect clients with additional support services. Overall, a combination of these skills ensures that the PRP Counselor can effectively guide clients on their path to recovery.


Schedule is flexible as this position in part-time but must include some evening and weekend availability.
