Summary

The function of this position is to provide quality clinical care to clients. Counselors assess clients on admission, with respect to behavioral health needs, and review, update, and execute that assessment on a continuing basis. Candidates for this role must hold an active LPC, LPCC, LSW, or LISW license.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities supervised by an appropriately licensed practitioner include:

  • Inform clients of limits to confidentiality, rights regarding services delivered and payment expectations.
  • Perform diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, and counseling services within supervised scope of practice in collaboration with clients.
  • Establish and review goals for each client.
  • Coordinate interventions with a multi-disciplinary treatment team.
  • Integrate services and /or make referrals to appropriate professionals or outside agencies as indicated.
  • Perform community outreach, information and referral, education assignments, and consultation services as approved by supervisor.
  • Attends staff meetings, in-services, case conferences, supervision sessions, etc., as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Under the supervision of an Independently Licensed Practitioner, the Licensed Professional Counselor may oversee the work of interns and volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Appropriate Degrees to support license status (LSW, LPC, MFT, CDCA, LCDC II or III).
  • Must hold, at minimum, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) license in the state of Ohio.
  • One year of professional practice experience in a behavioral health setting providing one on one client therapy, diagnostic assessment and treatment planning.
  • Possess the ability to evaluate the behavioral health needs of clients.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), with the ability to utilize an electronic health record system (CareLogic).
  • Display good customer service skills with clients, internal colleagues and the community at large.
Qualifications

Must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.

Maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

8. Displays good customer service skills with clients, internal colleagues and our community at large.
