Are you a licensed mental health professional seeking a meaningful role in education? A public school in Council Bluffs, IA, is hiring a School Counselor to support Pre-K through 12th-grade students during the upcoming academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite therapeutic services to a diverse PK12 caseload

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions (typically 68 students per day)

  • Collaborate with educators, families, and school teams to support student mental health

  • Contribute to behavioral and emotional development plans

  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (or higher) in a mental health-related field (e.g., psychology, counseling, nursing, or social work)

  • Current Iowa license in a field covered by Iowa licensure law (required)

  • Minimum of two years post-degree supervised clinical experience

  • Must meet criteria as a Certified Mental Health Professional by the Iowa Board of Behavioral Health

  • Must hold a Statement of Professional Recognition (Mental Health Professional) from the Iowa Department of Education

  • Experience working with school-aged children preferred
