We’re looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Counselor – IOP & Assessment who is passionate about mental health, addiction recovery, and making a difference in patients' lives.

Position Role As a Behavioral Health Counselor at Pathway Healthcare, you will join our team in delivering evidence-based therapy to individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and primary mental health diagnoses. You’ll play a critical role in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and conduct clinical assessments, including Level of Care (LOC) evaluations, to ensure each patient receives the appropriate level of treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care

  • Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy sessions aligned with personalized treatment plans.
  • Monitor client progress and adapt interventions as needed.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning when appropriate.

Assessment & Evaluation

  • Complete intake assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations.
  • Conduct LOC determinations and clinical risk assessments to inform treatment decisions.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation, including:
  • Progress notes
  • Treatment plans
  • Discharge summaries
  • Clinical assessments
  • Uphold HIPAA and ethical standards at all times.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Partner with physicians, psychiatric providers, and internal care teams to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

Qualifications

· Active, unrestricted clinical license in Mississippi (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LPCC).

· Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.

· Prior experience working in IOP, PHP, or similar behavioral health settings preferred.

· Proficiency in evidence-based therapy approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, MI).

· Strong group facilitation skills and effective written and verbal communication.

· Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
