This position performs a wide range of administrative duties, including (but not limited to): referral processing (referrals in and referrals out), patient registration, insurance management, patient appointment scheduling and confirming, route planning paperwork management, communication with referral sources, provider support, provider documentation control and management, and other administrative tasks assigned as workload allows.
This person will be responsible for confidential and sensitive material that requires time-sensitivity and detailed touch.
This person must be able to work independently and communicate effectively via phone, email, fax, and text.
The ability to manage many small tasks with extreme detail is required.
A sampling of responsibilities include:
Fax / distribute documentation as is necessary to the patient and / or patient care team:
- Patient wound orders and progress notes
- Test results
- Missed visits
- Changed visits
- Patient DC
Communicate as is necessary to the patient and / or patient care team:
- Appointments
- Changes in appointments
- Missed visits
- Visit issues
Manage:
- DME orders
- Requests for documentation
- Provider requests (labs, x-rays, etc.)
- Documentation for patient DC, internal transfer, etc.
- BFBMD and ancillary supply orders
Ancillary:
- Spot check the fax lines to ensure documentation is received as it should
- Develop relationships with customers (HH agencies)
- Identify contact information for the IW Providers, within HH agencies
- Quality control on all non-clinical documentation
- Medical Assistant background preferred
- 3+ years working in an administrative medical-based position\
- 3+ years scheduling experience
- Candidate must be detail oriented and have a keen ability to multi-task
- Experience / comfort working with executives and medical pros
- Comfort with new information and workflow technology
- This is a HIPAA compliant environment.
- Clinical experience is a plus.
