Overview
Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home, a long-term care and rehabilitation facility located in the historic Mount Pleasant area, is URGENTLY seeking a Clinical Care Manager to function as the Assistant Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator as needed.
- In collaboration with the Director of Nursing, plans, organizes, an evaluates the effectiveness of clinical care an services provided to residents at Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home.
- Supervises all levels of nursing within the department (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, RNs).
- Works closely with department leaders to promote teamwork and effective communication throughout the facility.
- Keeps abreast of regulatory developments/updates, gerontological nursing practice, and generally standards of nursing applicable to long term care.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development, revision, and maintenance of operational objectives for the Department, to include the development and updates of educational and process improvement initiatives.
- Participates in ongoing survey preparation activities. Contributes to onsite survey activities and development of Plan of Correction.
- Based on budgetary protocols, recommends to the Facility Administrator and Director of Nursing the number and levels of nursing personnel needed to meet regulatory requirements and to provide safe, quality care to residents.
- Facilitates daily clinical meetings with inter-disciplinary team. Conducts unit-level rounds and staff huddles to maintain intra-staff communication.
- Provides clinical oversight of residents with wounds, falls, elopement, weight management concerns, and other resident-related conditions. Provides staff education, as needed.
- As needed/requested by the Admissions Department, may participate in the selection and admission of prospective residents for the facility, considering staff availability and expertise needed.
- In concert with the DON, works effectively with Social Services department to manage and address resident concerns/complaints.
- Attends care plan meetings. Collaborates with RCC and other team members to prepare for meetings and to ensure appropriate responses regarding nursing care are available for concerns that may surface during the meeting. Updates care plans and associated documentation following the meeting.
- Reviews nursing documentation daily to ensure content is current and accurate, and that entries are timely.
- Collaborates with residents and families regarding the care within a week of admission and as necessary.
- Keeps the Director of Nursing and Facility Administrator abreast of resident conditions and unit activities.
- Communicates daily with the evening and night supervisors to identify any major problems, deaths, incidents, complaints, or transfers that requires follow-up, investigation, reporting to the Administrator or to the Performance Improvement Director.
Experience
- Must be licensed in the District of Columbia
- Must have, at a minimum, 2 years experience at the lower level of responsibilities as a Nurse Manager

Pay: $125,000.00 - $132,562.00 per year
