- Restricted/Direct Activities:
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with clients through social interaction.
- Encourage the development of communication, social skills, and problem-solving by guiding clients towards safe and acceptable behaviors.
- Gradually reduce prompts to promote independent responses while ensuring success.
- Increase the occurrence and duration of desirable behaviors by providing positive reinforcement.
- Accurately collect unbiased behavior data.
- Communicate proactively with fellow RBTs, BCBAs, families, and Clinical Directors to support the clients’ needs.
- Unrestricted Activities:
- Observe and collect data.
- Train staff and caregivers on behavior-analytic programs.
- Conduct behavior-analytic assessments (e.g., functional analyses, stimulus preference assessments).
- Research literature relevant to a current client’s programming.
- Write and revise behavior-analytic programs.
- Maintain BACB Ethical Compliance Code for RBTs and client dignity.
- Work with BCBA Mentor on guided practice of the BCBA role throughout Fellowship.
