Reports to: Director of Accounts Receivable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor
OVERVIEW:
The primary purpose of your position is to bill, audit, and collect Accounts Receivable for the designated facilities and assigned Managed Care payers following current applicable accounting and cost reimbursement principles relating to the long-term care operations. Coordinate and ensure financial accounts receivable objectives are maintained to maximize cash collections. Standard billing practices for assigned payers, reimbursement, refunds, credit and collections, and other financial matters through the utilization of established policies, procedures, and accepted principles to support efforts in the reduction of Days Sales Outstanding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor payments and status of claim payments via AR Software, cash receipts, provider portals, and via telephone.
- Audit reason for any outstanding claims and rebill, appeal, adjust, or create projects accordingly.
- Miscellaneous projects may come up from time to time, such as special research on claims, and audits.
- Notate all accounts in approved billing software.
- Communicate any treads relating to claim errors to Supervisor to ensure additional training can occur to prevent future delay of payment.
- Audit credits on accounts to determine if account/claim adjustment is needed.
- Develop relationships with Managed Care Provider Relations to coordinate special claims projects needed.
- Bill claims weekly/ monthly and follow claims through to payment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- 2-year skilled nursing billing and collection experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No
- This position has or has no supervisory responsibilities.
