We are hiring a passionate and credentialed Recreation Therapist to bring adaptive, engaging, and holistic therapeutic recreation to individuals with autism and complex conditions.
What You'll Do
At The Center for Discovery, the arts are not an extra — they are essential. Our Integrated Arts Department delivers immersive, individualized, and community-centered experiences in music, art, dance/movement, drama, recreation, and horticulture. Rooted in evidence-based practice and the belief that creative expression supports health and learning, our team works across disciplines to support each individual’s communication, regulation, and joy.

We are hiring a passionate and credentialed Recreation Therapist to bring adaptive, engaging, and holistic therapeutic recreation to individuals with autism and complex conditions.
What You'll Do
- Plan and facilitate meaningful recreation therapy sessions
- Promote wellness, skill-building, and community participation through recreation
- Collaborate with other arts professionals to design and lead integrated, cross-disciplinary experiences
- Contribute to special events, festivals and seasonal celebrations
- Provide life-enriching experiences during afternoons, evenings, and weekends when recreation is most meaningful
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation
- CTRS credential preferred
- Experience in adaptive recreation
- Creative, strengths-based approach
