Job Overview:
As a Behavioral Technician, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide essential support in educational settings. This role will primarily be focused on working with students with significant behavior challenges. Your main responsibilities will include supporting teachers in delivering instructional activities, offering individualized attention to students, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

This role is crucial for promoting the academic, social, and emotional development of all students, especially those with diverse learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to positively impact children's lives and contribute to their academic and social development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Classroom Instruction
  • Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and resources
  • Facilitate small group or individual instruction under the direction of the teacher
  • Reinforce learning concepts through guided practice and activities.
  • Student Assistance
  • Ability to Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning difficulties
  • Assist students in understanding and completing assignments
  • Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to promote student engagement and motivation
  • Behavioral Support
  • Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or BCBA
  • Help implement educational programs and IEP goals.
  • Monitor student behavior and intervene to maintain a productive learning environment
  • Foster positive social interactions among students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to address the diverse needs of students
  • Participate in team meetings and provide input on student progress and strategies for improvement
  • Assist with clerical tasks such as record-keeping, grading, and organizing instructional materials
  • Prepare and maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards
  • Help with the supervision of students during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional times

Job Details:

  • Monday- Friday (School Hours)
  • 6-7 hour shifts
  • Start Date: August 11, 2025
  • End Date: May 29, 2026

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of instructional techniques and strategies for diverse learners.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational development of students.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and meet any other requirements set by the school or district.
