Position Description:
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is seeking an Admissions Counselor I to recruit prospective students at high schools, college fairs, and community colleges. The successful candidate will assist in planning and participation in CEHD recruiting activities both on campus and in high school classrooms, coordinate yield activities and post-admission activities, and oversee campus visits for prospective CEHD students. The successful candidate will work cooperatively with CEHD departments and faculty members to support student recruitment. The successful candidate will develop recruiting materials and resources for recruitment efforts, conduct presentations, lead admission workshops and collect and analyze data to assist with outreach efforts. The successful candidate will possess strong organization, presentation, and computer skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently, have excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. This position requires some local and regional travel and working some night and weekend hours.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Recruits academically talented students for CEHD undergraduate programs
- Responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive recruitment plan
- Attend and participate in recruitment events both in person and virtually at high schools and community colleges, campus visit programs, professional conferences, one on one visits, collaborative meetings with Office of Admissions, and other admissions related events
- Build relationships with high school counselors, community-based organizations, and community college counselors through travel and ongoing communication
- Coordinate the recruitment and enrollment of external transfer students
- Conduct campus and departmental presentations for perspective students and their families
- Serves as the CEHD contact for prospective CEHD campus visits
- Utilize CRM (Slate) to market the CEHD and to develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance enrollment and yield, enrollment forecasting and operational efficiency
- Coordinate print, electronic and social media communications with Office of Admissions Communications team and CEHD staff
- Coordinate recruiting efforts between the CEHD and the UofL Undergraduate Office of Admissions.
- Develop a strong knowledge of academic departments and degree programs offered in the CEHD
- Attend UofL recruitment events that are held by the Office of Admissions
- Track data on recruitment activities to develop a data driven approach to predict future recruiting efforts
- Work in the community to increase public awareness of CEHD programs, success stories, and opportunities
- Three years of experience within Higher Education admissions and recruitment
- Experience with recruitment and/or admissions systems (PeopleSoft and Slate)
- Familiarity with UofL and the CEHD
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently but also be a team player
- Available to attend some events during evenings and weekends
