About Job

MVRA is looking for a part-time (with full-time potential) Outpatient Therapist to join our team!

Position Summary

  • To provide counseling, intervention and/or education to clients in a professional supportive manner. MVRA therapists draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to aid in the counseling process including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate needs of clients and provision of diagnostic/preventive and treatment services including individual therapy.
  • Create individualized care plans for each client.
  • Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.
  • Works in collaboration with other health/mental health professionals and provides consultation to the treatment team regarding patient/family social and environmental needs.
  • Maintain records of treatments and services through Therap, Acentra Health, and other confidential platforms in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Comply with all State laws, MaineCare regulations, Program Integrity and mental/behavioral health regulations.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Master's degree in social work or clinical Mental Health Counseling from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or through the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Education Programs (CACREP).
  • Maine state licensure to practice as a LCSW, LMSW-CC, LCPC, or LCPC-C is required. Certification by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work or The Board of Counseling Professionals is required.
  • 2+ years of work experience in a clinical health, behavioral health or mental health setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of counseling theories, therapies and techniques, as used in individual, family and group treatment, as well principles of social welfare.
  • Proficiency in psychosocial assessment and treatment and considerable knowledge of community resources and agencies and how to use them in resolving complex problems related to health, illness, and disability.
