Job Overview:
Charm City Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, person-centered mental health services to individuals, groups, and families in an outpatient setting. This role is instrumental in addressing the emotional, psychological, and behavioral health needs of our diverse population, including those enrolled in our Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP).
The LCPC will work collaboratively with medical, psychiatric, and support staff to deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based care that promotes long-term wellness and recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations for individuals seeking behavioral health support.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals, with regular updates based on progress.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions using evidence-based practices.
- Maintain detailed, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with state regulations and agency standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including medical providers, nurses, and substance use counselors, to coordinate care.
- Offer crisis intervention and safety planning as needed, including referrals to higher levels of care when appropriate.
- Support patients participating in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs such as Methadone and Suboxone.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality guidelines.
Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills using DSM-5 criteria
- Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal
- Skilled in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and suicide risk assessment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality regulations
- Competency using Electronic Health Records (EHR) for clinical documentation
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and independently when needed
- Cultural humility and sensitivity to issues of race, gender, socioeconomic status, and trauma
- Commitment to ethical practice, ongoing learning, and professional development
Requirements:
- Licensure: Active Maryland LCPC license in good standing (required) OR LGPC, LCSW-C, LMSW license/certification
- Education: Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and culturally competent practices.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Years of Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience providing individual and group counseling in an outpatient, community mental health, or substance use treatment setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with opioid use disorder, co-occurring disorders, trauma histories, and chronic mental illness.
- Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services (e.g., Methadone, Suboxone) and integrated care models is highly preferred.
- Prior experience conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, and managing clinical documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Experience in crisis intervention, safety planning, and referral coordination for higher levels of care.
- Background working in a team-based environment with medical, behavioral health, and case management staff to provide holistic care.
Pay:
LCPC’s have the option to choose from:
- $54,000-$104,000 annually; depending on experience, certification, education, skills, and performance.
- Payment based on the number of approved group notes submitted
