About Job

Overview: With the growing need for mental health services in our community, Jewish Family Services of San Antonio is looking for a talented, mission driven clinician to join our team and help us make an impact through our partnership with the Communities in Schools (CIS) SEEDS program. The therapist in this role will be working primarily with children and adolescents in NISD schools, where they will provide assessment and counseling intervention to students with social emotional or behavioral needs who could benefit from more focused time with a licensed mental health professional. During school breaks, this role will transition to assist in other JFS programs as needed.


This position offers many great learning opportunities for any professional seeking to build knowledge and experience helping youth within the school system. Orientation and training are provided as well as weekly consultation with JFS Clinical Director and the clinical team.

The Ideal Candidate for this position will:

·     Has experience working with children and youth.

·     Will have the ability to manage their calendar and work schedule.

·     Can work as part of a larger interdisciplinary team.

·     Be strongly committed to professional development.

·     Be familiar with mental health issues facing children and adolescents today.

·     Possess the ability to utilize strengths-based and evidence based modalities.


Key Areas of Responsibility:

·    ·     Provide clinical counseling services to 20-25 clients per week including children, adolescents, and their families.

·     Meets with patients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

·     Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress.

·     Refers patients to outside specialist or agencies when necessary.

·     Involves and advises family members when appropriate.

·     Ensure all session notes and other documentation are completed on a daily and weekly basis.

·     Maintain communication with management to ensure that hours/clients are being properly managed and supported, including scheduling and billing.

  

Must Haves: 

·     Master’s Degree in a mental health-related field.

·     Current Texas license

·     Valid Driver’s license.

·     Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
