Job Overview:
Charm City Medical Center (CCMC) is seeking a qualified and compassionate Certified Associate Counselor–Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) to provide individual and group counseling services to clients with substance use disorders. The CAC-AD will play a key role in supporting recovery, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and education to individuals and groups affected by substance use disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, screenings, and evaluations to determine client needs and appropriate levels of care.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the care team.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on topics such as relapse prevention, recovery skills, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in compliance with CCMC policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and community providers to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
- Participate in case conferences, supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
- Ensure client confidentiality and adhere to all applicable laws, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Skills:
- Proficiency in facilitating individual and group counseling sessions.
- Ability to engage and motivate clients in recovery.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation best practices.
- Cultural competency in working with diverse client populations.
Requirements:
- Active Certified Associate Counselor–Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) credential in good standing, issued by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, behavioral health, psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of substance use disorder treatment models, recovery principles, and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Minimum Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience providing substance use disorder counseling or working in addiction treatment or behavioral health services
Pay:
CAC-AD's have the option to choose from:
- $25-32 hourly; depending on experience, certification, education, skills, and performance.
- Payment based on the number of approved group notes submitted
Timings:
- 7am-3:30pm M-F
- Expected hours: 42.5
