Our agency is currently in search of a Level III Clinical Counselor to aid in our endeavors in changing the stigmas surrounding substance use disorders and providing treatment to a variety of local populations.
The Level III Clinical Counselor will work with patients in an outpatient treatment setting to deliver a full range of therapeutic services to include assessment and treatment plan development, individual and group counseling services, case and crisis management, as well as discharge planning. Our approach is successful due to our staff’s commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed care strategies demonstrated through compassion and a pledge to excellent standards of care. Direct patient care will result in approximately 40% of the position's workload.
In addition to providing patient care, the Level III Counselor will also coordinate with the Clinical Services Manager the goals and plans for growth and development of the Treatment Team (60% of anticipated workload). In this role, the Level III Counselor will:
- Utilize supervision, program coordination, and managerial approaches to accomplish Agency strategic goals and objectives, including patient care spanning from assessment through post-discharge follow-up, and within special programming and initiatives
- Provide daily support and oversight to Peer Support Specialists and the Recovery Services Program, including PSS Clinical Supervision as well as continuous coaching opportunities
- Provide individual and group supervision to Masters-level students working at Aiken Center in a practicum/internship position, including the establishment and implementation of written individual clinical supervision plans
- Perform ongoing quality oversight activities with PSS, and Interns by means of clinical documentation review, reviews and audits and case consultation.
- Accurately compile and submit reports to funding sources as required
- Receive clinical supervision with Clinical Services Manager as scheduled
Interested applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- SC Licensure
- Certified as an ADC or AADC through The Addictions Professionals of SC
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SUD treatment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Administrative and Clinical Supervision to include working with peer support staff and interns.
- Knowledge of substance use disorders detailed in the DSM-5 TR
- Knowledge of ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria
- General aptitude and knowledge of Electronic Health Record systems
