CONTRACT: 210-day contract, 2025-2026 school year
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold or be eligible for certification as a school counselor as per policy 5202
• Must have ability to communicate and work effectively with students, school administrators, school personnel, and parents
• Demonstrates organizational and management skills as per alignment with WV School Counseling Model and the School Counseling Plan
• Educational philosophy compatible with the Wirt County Board of Education
• Understanding of and demonstrated proficiency in the tenants of upholding confidentiality for the protection and support of students and families

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement and provide leadership for the Comprehensive School Counseling Program
• Facilitate delivery of Student Success Standards
• Align professional practice with the WV school counselor standards and elements
• Provide developmental guidance curriculum to students as per state guidelines
• Provide instruction and coordination of the delivery of the foundational student standards as described in Policy 2315 and Policy 2520.19
• Guides continuous program improvement through multiple forms of evaluation
• Analyze and evaluate student data through collaboration with school leadership to determine the impact on student learning
• Large and small group instruction on universal prevention and targeted interventions
• Implements and provides leadership in data governance, student confidentiality issues, and links to outside the school environment services for children and families
• Follows all regulations such as FERPA, Safe and Supportive Schools, Family Supports

Other responsibilities as assigned by the school principal or superintendent
SUPERVISOR: Principal
SALARY: Wirt County Salary Scale for teachers based on degree and years' experience
