This is a vital, full-time position working across a 3-5 learning environment where you'll serve as a leader in building a supportive, inclusive, and student-centered school climate. Due to the timing of the posting, we are only able to issue a temporary one year contract, but we anticpate the position will continue beyond 2025-26.

As our School Counselor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging classroom instruction on social-emotional learning (SEL) topics including empathy, conflict resolution, and goal setting.

  • Support career awareness and planning at age-appropriate levels.

  • Offer crisis intervention and connect students to school and community-based resources.

  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, families, and outside agencies to ensure every student’s needs are met.

  • Participate in and contribute to 504 planning, IEP teams, RTI/MTSS systems, and student support teams (SSTs).

  • Coordinate school-wide initiatives in restorative practices, peer mediation, and positive school culture.

  • Promote inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices aligned with EWSD’s equity policy.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Be an advocate for equity and access for all students, especially those historically underserved.

  • Have strong counseling skills and the ability to support students through social, emotional, and academic challenges.

  • Thrive in a dynamic school environment that centers students' voices and identities.
