General Summary
This position will assist in the provision of comprehensive counseling services. Will provide crisis and on-going counseling services, in addition to implementing prevention and outreach programs to students on the Grand Island Campus and other CCC campuses and centers, as assigned by Director of Counseling and Prevention Education Services. Successful candidate will be located on the Grand Island Campus. Some evening hours may be required. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to CCC students, in the form of individual, group, and crisis counseling. A variety of topics may be addressed, ranging from stress management, anxiety, effective communication, self-esteem, healthy relationships, suicidal ideation, and other areas related to student well-being and success. Maintain relationships with off-campus referral systems for treatment in situations where the student does not wish to be seen on-campus.

Responsible for providing an initial assessment and stepped care model of treatment. Counseling treatment should be solution-focused and/or brief in design, with some case-by-case exceptions. Must understand appropriate times to coordinate referrals based on student need, but also be sensitive to potential restrictions. Supervision with the director will be required.

Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate records of evaluation, treatment, consultation, and correspondence of clinical caseload. Participate in activities that may include developing, coordinating, and executing of outreach activities and developing and maintaining infographics materials, brochures, presentations, and other programming in general.

Provide consultation to students, employees as it pertains to student mental health and well-being issues. Consult with off-campus healthcare providers, hospitals, community mental health agencies and private practitioners, etc. to help coordinate care. Develop and maintain positive relationships with the CCC community, as well as outside community organizations.

Serve as a consultant when assigned by the Director, on student cases involving mental wellness issues or crisis situations. This will include utilizing crisis intervention strategies and stabilization skills to students experiencing extreme distress and suicide ideation.
