About Job

Doors to Freedom provides safe places for survivors of sex trafficking to experience a transformed life. We are looking for a dedicated Music Therapist to join our team. Music therapy has proven to be beneficial for the population of teens we serve. The Music Therapist works closely with the Program Director, as appropriate, to ensure the understanding of, dedication to, and implementation of the mission, vision, core values, and policy and procedures of Doors to Freedom.Responsibilities:
  • Sets therapeutic goals and objectives for residents through music therapy assessment sessions, collaboration with the resident’s therapeutic team, and observations inside and outside of the musical setting.
  • Plans and facilitates individual and group sessions for residents to meet their specified goals and objectives set by the Music Therapist.
  • Facilitates a fine arts credit music elective class for residents, which includes but is not limited to: managing the gradebook for the elective course, assigning and grading homework, keeping track of participation, and logging credit hours.
  • Plans, oversees, and facilitates music performances.
