Medical Receptionist

As a Patient Care Coordinator (Medical Receptionist), you will be a key component in the facilitation and organization of a smooth and coordinated healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.
JOB DESCRIPTION
● Represent our family practice with a professional and welcoming demeanor.
● Greet and register patients according to established protocols.
● Answer incoming calls in a prompt and courteous manner.
● Navigate telephone inquiries and transfer calls as required.
● Assist patients in completing all necessary forms and documentation.
● Inform patients of medical office procedures and policies.
● Schedule patient appointments efficiently to ensure a well-ordered flow of the practice.
● Ensure patient information is accurate and up to date on a regular basis.
● Maintain and manage patient records, including scanning of documents, billing information, and medical insurance.
● Entering insurance information in patient charts and verifying patient coverage by insurance.
● Help patients arrange payment for services not covered by their insurance.
● Collect co-pays, payments, and balances.
● Obtain external medical reports as requested by medical staff.
● Respond and comply with requests for information.
● Assist with incoming and outgoing mail.
● Assist with outreach for Quality Improvement Measures.
● Complete other clerical duties as assigned.
● Ensure reception area is well maintained, organized, neat, and clean.
● Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the practice as needed.
● Contribute to a positive and cohesive working culture among all departments of the clinic.
● Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
KNOWLEDGE
● High school diploma
● Medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
● Computer and relevant software applications
● General administrative and clerical procedures
● Working knowledge of healthcare insurance preferred
