About Job

A healthcare organization in the Bronx is looking to add a licensed Inpatient Psychiatrist to join their growing team as a Unit Chief.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends
  • Hours: Standard business hours
  • Patient Population: Adults
  • Call Schedule: None

Responsibilities:

The Inpatient Psychiatrist will:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate the mental and emotional status of adult patients
  • Diagnose mental health conditions and disorders, such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for each patient
  • Prescribe and manage medications to help stabilize and improve the mental health of their patients
  • Manage psychiatric crises and emergencies
  • Prepare patients for discharge from the hospital by developing aftercare plans
  • Educate patients and their families about the nature of the mental health condition, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and preventing relapse
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, progress, and any changes in medications or interventions
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice in the State of New York
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry
