We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Practical Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) to join our mental health team. Under the supervision of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). The AMFT will provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups. This role involves using evidence-based practices to support clients in improving their emotional and mental health, fostering healthy relationships, and navigating life’s challenges.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Therapeutic Services:
  • Conduct individual, couple, family, and/or group therapy sessions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on the client’s specific needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Use a variety of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) et al.
  • Client Assessment:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of client mental health, relationship dynamics, and emotional well-being.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions and relational issues under supervision.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals as needed to ensure comprehensive client care.
  • Maintain clear, consistent, and confidential communication with clients, their families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Documentation:
  • Keep accurate, timely, and confidential client records, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
  • Professional Development:
  • Participate in regular supervision sessions with an LMFT to discuss cases, seek guidance, and ensure continuous professional growth.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure:
  • Must be registered as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) or Associate Practical Clinical Counselor (APCC) with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Experience:
  • Experience working with diverse populations and managing a variety of mental health issues is preferred.
  • Previous experience in clinical settings such as private practice, community mental health, or hospitals is a plus.


  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
  • Proficiency in crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Cultural competence and an understanding of intersectionality, as well as how societal factors influence relationships and mental health.


Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to meet client needs.
  • Maintain compliance with all California state laws governing licensure and supervised hours.
  • Commitment to maintaining a consistent caseload.
  • Adherence to ethical guidelines as defined by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
  • Must carry a caseload of a minimum 20 clients per week.
  • Must provide availability for 2 days in-person, as well as some evening availability.

Work Environment:

This position requires availability of at least 2 days a week for in person sessions in Mid-Town Sacramento, as well as providing some openings to meet with clients up to 7PM. Candidates should be prepared for a collaborative, client-focused environment that values ongoing learning and professional growth.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time


Pay:

$45.00 per hour for billable hours, $25.00 for supervision/admin hours
