Job Summary:
Gold Beach Lumber Yard is seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our store in Harbor, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high volume retail management, including financial reports and inventory control, excellent customer service skills, and a solid understanding of hardware products and tools. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, driving sales, and ensuring the overall success and profitability of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations:
- Manage day-to-day store functions, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Implement and monitor store policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance.

- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise store employees.
- Create work schedules and delegate tasks to staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback/coaching.

- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Resolve customer issues, complaints, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide product knowledge and assistance to customers when needed.

- Inventory & Merchandising:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by ordering and receiving stock.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and minimize shrinkage.
- Oversee product merchandising and promotional displays.

- Sales & Financial Performance:
- Drive sales and meet or exceed store targets.
- Monitor financial performance including sales, expenses, and profit margins.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Train staff on proper handling of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of retail or hardware store management experience.
- Strong knowledge of hardware tools, building materials, and home improvement products.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in POS systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Physically active environment requiring standing for long periods and lifting.
