Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Psychologist to lead and implement all non-medical psychological service programs within a correctional facility. This role involves planning treatment, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring the effective delivery of psychological services to inmates/residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement all professional psychological service programs.
• Conduct psychological screenings and clinical assessments based on records review and inmate interviews.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions with psychiatrists, nurses, physicians, and social workers.
• Provide counseling, mental health assessments, and crisis interventions.
• Make regular rounds in segregation or restrictive housing units to monitor mental health status.
• Consult with medical, mental health, education, and security staff to assess behavioral changes and mental health concerns.
• Ensure treatment activities are well-integrated and patient care follow-through occurs.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of psychological counseling theory and intervention techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
• Capable of handling crisis situations and making appropriate clinical decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with inmate or similar populations is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, including 1 year in a comparable role.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Travel nursing

Pay: $110.41 - $120.41 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
