Millwood's caring, and multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. Millwood Hospital is located in Arlington, TX in the heart of the city. It is 5 minutes away from AT&T Stadium home of the Dallas Cowboys. The hospital is less than 35 minutes from DFW International Airport. Position Summary

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY: Students will be supervised by a Licensed Social Worker. They will have the opportunity to rotate through each Outpatient Unit, working with each population that we serve. Learn how our facility impacts the community and participate in treatment teams with a multidisciplinary team approach. This is an unpaid internship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Bio-psychosocial assessments

  • Discharge planning and identifying resources within the community for aftercare

  • Psychoeducational groups and therapeutic processing groups

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program for social work, counseling or other related field and has met the requirements to participate in a practicum/internship

  • Letter of recommendation from Practicum Advisor

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work, counseling or another related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Successful completion of background and drug screenings
