About Job

Position Summary:

  • As a Behavior Technician at Move Up ABA, LLC, you will be responsible for providing high-quality Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy under the close supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA®.
  • In this role, you will be expected to complete and pass the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®) training and certification exam within 90 days of employment.
  • This role requires a commitment to ethical practice, client safety, and ongoing professional development.

Essential Functions:

Client Service:

Deliver 1:1 ABA therapy in home and community settings throughout Maryland.

Implementation:

Implement behavior intervention plans and individualized treatment plans as directed by the BCBA.

Data Management: Collect and submit data and session notes accurately and within required timeframes.

Environmental Support: Assist in modifying environments and activities to support client progress. • Attendance: Maintain punctuality and consistency in attending scheduled sessions.

Client-Centered Care: Adhere to individualized treatment plans with patience, empathy, and understanding of clients’ needs.

Ethical Practice: Follow Move Up’s restraint-free and kind extinction approach, and adhere to the BACB RBT Ethics Code and Move Up ABA’s best practices. Confidentiality: Ensure the protection of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) information and adhere to anti-fraud policies.

Continuous Improvement: Actively seek and accept feedback from peers and supervisors, and provide constructive feedback to others to enhance team performance and personal growth. • Compliance: Act as a mandated reporter, adhering to legal requirements for reporting concerns of abuse or neglect.

Team Participation: Attend company meetings and training sessions as required.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualification

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in a related field preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client locations. • Commitment to passing the 40-hour RBT training and certification exam within 90 days of employment.
  • Minimum six-month commitment to accepted placements.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet extensive background requirements for providing healthcare services. Equipment, Tools, and Software:
  • Accurate and timely documentation in CentralReach. • Regular engagement on Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
  • Fingercheck for all payroll-related tasks.
  • Personal device (smartphone, tablet, or laptop) unless otherwise specified.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to complete the 40-hour RBT training and pass the RBT exam within 90 days of hire.
  • Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Professional Crisis Management (PCM) certifications.
  • Maintain active RBT certification and coordinate recertification with the supervising BCBA.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Fine and gross motor skills to implement behavior intervention strategies.
  • Ability to engage in physical activities such as running, bending, and kneeling as necessary.

Work Environment:

  • Adequate vision and hearing to effectively monitor and interact with clients.
  • In-home and community-based service locations throughout Maryland, with variability based on client needs.
