JOB SUMMARY

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Level 1 will be a staff member in Child & Adolescent Services. The major focus of this position is to provide training and support to the front-line staff implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs through supervision and program development. A Level 1 BCBA is differentiated from a Level 2 BCBA based on caseload. Expectations for the Level 1 BCBA caseload are described below. Board Certified Behavior Analysts are responsible for developing and supervising the implementation of behavior and treatment plans for the individuals we serve.

This position will directly report to a Clinical Director, Assistant Clinical Director or Senior Board Certified Behavior Analyst, depending on the location and circumstances.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

· Lead by example, displaying timeliness in arrival, work completion and treatment plan submission.

· Complete treatment plan reviews with insurances companies (when needed).

· Complete assessments for assigned clients.

· Develop, monitor, and modify the implementation of treatment plans for clients

· Present treatment plan to the insurance provider in a timely manner to ensure appropriate authorization and/or continuation of care.

· Provide Supervision to Behavior Technicians on all aspects of implementing high-quality ABA programs and their revisions.

· Provide supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians.

· Provide direct therapy for clients as needed.

· Develop effective behavior plans.

· Receive crisis prevention training and supervise the implementation of crisis prevention.

· Assist in intakes when requested

· Work with other Center staff to make sure the Center is a safe and healthy environment. Reports housekeeping and/or maintenance needs as they arise.

· Provide information to the accounting department needed for billing for services provided with accuracy and within the designated time frame.

· Learn insurance codes and billing necessities for insurance companies, to provide accurate and update information to staff.

· Maintain a positive and respectful relationship with families and maintains appropriate professional boundaries with families, colleagues, and other staff.

· Demonstrate cultural competency in providing consistent high-quality services to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultural circumstances.

· Complete parent meetings for each client as assigned by your Supervisor or by the treatment plan.

· Meet supervision requirements per approved treatment plans.

· Assist in, or complete interviews for new hires to ensure staff are available for clients.

· Provide recommendations and resources for home programs and goals to encourage consistency and reinforcement for ABA programs outside of therapy.

· Assist Lead Behavior technicians in daily coverage assignments for clients.

· A Level 1 center-based BCBA will carry a caseload of 7 full-time equivalent clients, and a Level 1 community-based BCBA will carry a caseload of 5 full-time equivalent clients.

General Responsibilities

· Responsible for the health & safety of individuals served

· Represent LOGAN in a positive way in the community.

· Serve as an advocate to protect the dignity & human rights of individuals served.

· Serve as an example for staff in terms of good employee practices, including (but not limited to) excellent attendance and strict adherence to LOGAN policies.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

· Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field.

Credentialing

· Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

· Credentialed with all insurance and Medicaid payors

· Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state(s) of service, if required by that state

Experience

· Strong knowledge of & experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including assessment and treatment

· Experience developing and conducting trainings for various audiences.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Credentials to become state licensed when applicable

· Excellent ability to communicate with families and other professionals

· Ability to sit & use computer keyboard

· Ability to kneel, bend, & reach

· Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout intervention
