Social Workers are needed for an outpatient/community health organization in Brooklyn, NY. Prior experience in mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders preferred. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity. Paid medical insurance and PTO offered. High integrity and character are a must.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to provide comprehensive mental health and substance use support to individuals facing emotional, behavioral, and addiction-related challenges. This role involves assessing, counseling, and connecting clients with essential resources to promote stability and long-term recovery.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience working with individuals affected by mental health disorders, substance abuse, or co-occurring conditions. This position requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction strategies, and evidence-based interventions to empower clients on their path to recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling focused on mental health and substance use recovery.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and develop risk management plans for at-risk individuals.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and community resources to ensure coordinated care.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Harm Reduction approaches.
  • Support clients in navigating housing, employment, financial assistance, and healthcare services.
  • Provide psychoeducation and relapse prevention strategies to individuals and families.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations.
  • Advocate for client needs within healthcare systems, legal settings, and social service agencies.

Requirements:

  • LCSW or LMSW in the state of NY
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented approaches.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, case management, and care coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Must speak Spanish.
