Position Overview

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join our student support team for the 20252026 academic year. This role is vital in promoting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students across diverse school settings. The successful candidate will provide direct services, evaluations, and consultative support to educators and families throughout the district.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and interpret data to inform educational planning and eligibility for special education services.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams, administrators, teachers, and families to develop student-centered support plans.
  • Participate in Response to Intervention (RTI), Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
  • Deliver short-term counseling and crisis intervention services to support student mental health.
  • Assist with behavioral assessments and functional behavior intervention planning.
  • Serve as a resource on best practices in mental health, learning, and behavior within the school context.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Louisiana Department of Education (DOE) Certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) or Masters degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws, including IDEA and Section 504.
  • Experience with diverse student populations and urban school settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish or Vietnamese) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with culturally responsive practices and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience in a New Orleans public or charter school environment.
