School Counselor (K–8, Year-Round) | Florida-Certified | Start June 2025


About the Role


We’re seeking a Florida-certified School Counselor for a full-time, year-round position supporting students and families in a K–8 setting. You’ll collaborate with educators, families, and school leadership to improve student outcomes through strong support systems, guidance programming, and social-emotional interventions.

  • Location: Jacksonville, FL - Onsite School setting
  • Start Date: June 2025
  • Certification Required: Florida School Counselor Certification (PK–12)

What You’ll Bring

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling (or equivalent)
  • Valid Florida Certification in School Counseling (PK–12)
  • At least 1 year of school counseling experience with measurable impact
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by law


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a K–8 setting (counseling or teaching)
  • Experience developing school-wide systems and building community partnerships
  • Confidence leading student support initiatives and parent engagement strategies


What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the LEA and coordinate district Multi-Response Team (MRT) meetings
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver in-class guidance and character education
  • Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based interventions
  • Support student attendance and engagement through family outreach
  • Onboard and support new families as they transition into the school
  • Connect families with local resources and community programs
  • Lead summer reading and credit recovery efforts through FLVS
  • Plan and host at least one community-building event each school year
  • Maintain and improve counseling systems aligned to student needs
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by school leadership
