We are seeking a strategic, results-oriented, and tech-forward Senior Vice President of Collections to lead our high-performing Collections Department. This role is mission-critical to our business, driving financial results through operational excellence, process innovation, and visionary leadership.

Position Summary

As the Senior Vice President of Collections, you will oversee the strategic direction and technical advancement of SAFCO’s collections and recovery operations. You will lead large-scale initiatives to improve processes, technology, and risk management strategies while ensuring best-in-class customer engagement and regulatory compliance.

This executive will work cross-functionally—particularly with Originations—to align credit risk with growth goals, oversee high-risk portfolios, and apply deep expertise in bankruptcy law and secured transactions. Your leadership will foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the strategic development and operational performance of Collections, Recovery, and Customer Service
Design and implement short- and long-term strategies that align with company goals and support sustainable growth
Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and analytics to enhance departmental efficiency and outcomes
Establish and manage SAFCO’s collections goals and KPIs; provide direction on high-risk and high-volume accounts
Optimize payment terms and customer resolution strategies to improve portfolio performance and cash flow
Collaborate with Originations to align risk management with business development opportunities
Apply expert-level understanding of bankruptcy law and secured transactions in collections strategies
Foster a culture of accountability, compliance, and customer-centric service throughout the department
Participate in executive-level decision-making and contribute to cross-functional initiatives across the organization

What You Bring

10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in collections, automotive finance, or specialty lending
Demonstrated expertise in collections strategy, bankruptcy law, secured lending, and risk management
Proven ability to lead, inspire, and grow large, high-performing teams
Track record of managing enterprise-wide initiatives and driving cross-functional collaboration
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, statistical software, and financial/accounting systems (e.g., NLS or similar)
Strong aptitude for using data, analytics, and technology (SQL experience a plus) to inform strategy and improve operations
Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced business training preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful but not required
