About Job

Under the direction and supervision of the Manager and/or a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant performs structured assessment and treatment based on the plan of care developed by a Physical Therapist. The PTA identifies patient reaction to treatments performed, makes recommendations for treatment changes to the Physical Therapist, and documents per policy. In addition, the Physical Therapist Assistant promotes communication of patient care information among team members.

Minimum Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical continuing education in area of expertise.

Minimum Work Experience

  • Experience in hospital setting preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Currently licensed in the state of employment.
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Written and verbal communication with physicians, allied health professionals and patient/family.
  • Patient and family teaching.
  • Documentation of all information gathered.
  • Documentation reflects progress toward goals, utilization of established plan, appropriate interventions and outcomes on all appropriate forms.
  • Interviewing skills include ability to extract and interpret patient/family clinical information.
  • Able to problem solve complex cases to identify potential discharge problems.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.

Pay Range: $22.49 - $33.09
