Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child and family counseling, with a focus on providing support to children and their families facing various challenges. This role requires an individual who is skilled in behavioral therapy and has experience working with pediatric populations. The Counselor will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote emotional and psychological well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for children and families.
- Assess client needs through interviews, observations, and clinical research.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including behavioral therapy.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of client progress.
- Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to support clients’ needs.
- Provide chronic pain counseling as needed for clients experiencing physical health issues.
- Engage in data collection to evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions.
- Stay informed about best practices in child family counseling and related fields.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid licensure or certification as a Counselor or Therapist.
- Experience in child family counseling is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with pediatrics and behavioral therapy techniques.
- Knowledge of medical records management and coding practices is a plus.
- Experience working with children and families facing diverse challenges.
- Understanding of chronic pain counseling methodologies is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Commitment to ethical practice and professional development.
- Christian counseling experience is a nice-to-have but not required.
