About Job

The Addictions Counselor is responsible for directly overseeing/coordinating the care of clients on their caseload, including conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating one-on-one therapy, and after care planning. He/she will also lead a variety of groups, as well as family education. The Addictions Counselor will create and update all clients notes and documentation, as required by federal, state, & local laws, as well as industry at facility standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

1. EDUCATION:

Degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Addiction, Human Services, or health-related field.

2. EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 1 year experience in mental health/addiction.

3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current Maryland License

CPR certification preferred

4. KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING

REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE:

Knowledge of the Principles and Practices of the discipline.

Knowledge of CARF and/or Joint Commission Standards.

Strong Communication skills.

Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Client Confidentiality laws.

Knowledge of Workplace Violence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,567.00 - $84,087.00 per year
