Are you the Summer Residential Counselor we have been looking for? In this temporary position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with youth that we serve!
Cohannet Academy is an Intensive Residential Treatment Program for adolescents that specializes in trauma informed care. Cohannet provides 24-hour comprehensive care including a school on site, a full clinical staff, nursing staff, and direct care staff.
Schedule Offered: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. This is a temporary position for this summer.
YOU will be able to work within a team of 3 co-workers to assist in developing and implementing a recreation schedule for the summer.
YOU will be able to lead group activities such as arts and crafts, dance, poetry and drama
YOU will be able to facilitate community outings such as beach days, Six Flags, white water rafting and coaching our softball team!

Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma required.
- Pursuing a Bachelors in the field of Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Fine Arts or Occupational Therapy preferred.
- Experience with children in an a school, camp or residential setting preferred.
- COVID-19 Vaccination required.
- Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting youth that we serve is required.
- Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
- At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for youth that we serve!
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
