HealthRIGHT 360 offers residential treatment services designed to serve individuals and families with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Residential programs run 24/7 and include individual and group therapy, family therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, medication support services, and crisis intervention.

This position works Thursday to Monday, 3 pm - 11:30 pm.

Job Overview
This is a union position.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 1 year's experience as a registered SUD Counselor.
HealthRIGHT 360's residential substance use disorder (SUD) program serves up to 99 adult men and women: 33 for judicially involved men, 33 for men, and 33 for women. We provide a continuum of services for the low-income/Medi-Cal population. The program is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and will serve all LA County residents.
The SUD Counselor is a registered or certified substance use disorder professional who maintains registration from an approved/accredited California agency. The counselor facilitates patient education and group counseling sessions and may carry a caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitates patient education and group/individual counseling sessions as assigned. Delivers sessions with fidelity, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Tracks client progress accurately and documents clinical services diligently.
- Provides orientation to group treatment culture and norms.
- Facilitates groups in residential, outpatient, or field settings based on assignment and agency needs.
- Utilizes trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices.
- Meets client care hours expectation (25 client care hours per week).
Clinical Documentation
Completes all progress notes within 72 hours of service delivery.
Training, Supervision, and Quality Improvement
Maintains compliance with CCAPP or CADTP requirements, participates in supervision, and completes required trainings promptly.
Professionalism and Other Duties
- Arranges work schedule according to agency needs.
- Attends staff and other meetings.
- Reads and responds to emails daily.
- Completes client UA tests and documents results.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Registered or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor from an approved California agency.
- At least one year experience in 1:1 and group counseling, with expertise in substance abuse treatment, relapse prevention, and recovery.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with clients experiencing acute withdrawal.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed services.
Background clearance required: must complete background check and livescan clearance. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
