If you’re searching for something more than just a job, something akin to a calling, then consider the challenge and opportunity of being a member of Johnson County Government!  The Department of Health Information Management for Mental Health at Johnson County Government has a current opening for an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Business Analyst. The EHR Business Analyst position is responsible for Electronic Health Record system and business analysis of all types leading to development, interpretation and communication of data used in making decisions regarding systems, processes and alternatives. Additionally, this position is responsible for evaluation and coordination of EHR software updates to the myAvatar system with business and technical teams. The ability to perform data mining, manipulation and reporting using SQL, Crystal Reports and similar reporting tools is desired. Vital to this position is the ability to understand the behavioral health business and key drivers of results while challenging assumptions and gathering information to create thorough analyses, including but not limited to process efficiency, client outcomes, financial information, and identification of potential issues. This candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with various individuals throughout the organization. First review of applications will be May 16th.

Job Description

Duties include:

  • Maintains effective communication and good working relationships with employees at all levels of the County and customers outside the department in all key functional areas.
  • Assists customers in identifying their needs related to Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and recommends solutions that add business value; analyzes business processes, prepares and maintains business requirements, and works with users and technical staff to assure solutions meet business requirements; interacts with multiple business units and job functions to ensure all business perspectives are addressed.
  • Works closely with the Department of Technology and Innovation (DTI) to plan and coordinate enhancements, changes and upgrades to the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Collects, edits, maintains and analyzes data; ensures data is accurate, current, and complete through quality assurance procedures; develops new and enhances existing datasets through various techniques such as data mining, process automation, workflow modifications, and agency collaboration; ensures compliance data is accurate and available for necessary changes.
  • Transforms data into meaningful end-user information through the use of a variety of reporting and analytical tools including, but not limited to, Crystal reports, SQL reporting services, Tableau and Clearpoint Strategy software.
  • Performs gap analysis between requirements and proposed solutions based on user needs, business analysis, and project constraints; researches options to reconcile gaps; considers both project and enterprise implications and how the solution aligns with existing and emerging technologies.
  • Defines and documents functional and system test plans, tests cases and scripts; coordinates and performs testing and quality assurance activities.Develops and conducts user training on system(s) functionality.
  • Provides user support throughout the project life cycle to ensure business objectives are achieved.
  • Assists with development and implementation of annual technology replacement plan and other technology planning initiatives.

Job Requirements

Associate's degree in the following fields(s) of study: Computer Science, Business Administration, or a relevant field and four years business analyst, project management, system analyst or related experience are required.

 

Bachelor's degree in the following field(s) of study: Computer Science, Business Administration, or a relevant field, experience with electronic health records systems and experience working with a community mental health organization is preferred.

Experience with myAvatar a plus.
