The Point of Care (POC) Specialist is responsible for the coordination of Point of Care testing. This supporting role crosses multiple hospital and clinic locations. The Point of Care Specialist provides technical resources and daily direction to Clinical and Non-Clinical staff in regard to Point of Care policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. The Point of Care Specialist assures quality testing and accurate test performance through operator training, competency assessment, equipment monitoring, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, quality control review, and proficiency testing.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or related laboratory science field.
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 years in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Experience in POC program/techniques preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- ASCP, NCA, NALCP Certification or equivalent.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and problems solving skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory theory and techniques.
- Knowledge in the areas of quality improvement, quality control, equipment maintenance and laboratory required.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service and delivery of high-quality services knowledge.
Pay Range: $29.00 - $46.00
