Job Description

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS and provide services outlined below:

International SOS is looking for an individual who is an experienced Licensed Social Worker to assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent mental illness, emotional disturbances, and other behavioral issues for VA members and their families.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Biopsychosocial Assessments and assist with social determinants of health.
  • Suicide Risk, Mental Health, and Crisis Assessment interventions.
  • Document safety care plans in patient's medical record.
  • Provide Advanced Directive teaching and services.
  • Assist with Petition of Inpatient Psychiatric Care.
  • Communicates effectively with providers and interdisciplinary team.
  • Re-assesses patient's condition and revises plan of care as needed.
  • Provides resources and assistance with transportation.
  • Schedule family meetings, interdisciplinary team meetings, or other goals of care conversations.
  • Provide resources when the veterans have been determined to be homeless.
  • Address any findings of abuse or neglect. Consult APS as appropriate.
  • Assess and assist with discharge planning and referrals.
  • Assist with veterans who need resources when going home.
  • Initiate, prioritize, and reorganize appropriate measures in emergency situations.
  • Educate patient and family to increase level of understanding.
  • Maintains a neat personal appearance and maintains professional decorum.
  • Applies the VA's customer service standards, always demonstrating helpful, courteous, and respectful conduct.
  • Reviews and documents patient information in the electronic medical record.

Basic Requirements/Certifications

  • Two (2) years' current experience as a Social Worker.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Education Required

  • Must possess at least a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited school in social work.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate.

Additional Information

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.

Compensation/ Min: $47hr Max: $61hr
