As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients navigate their recovery journey. You will provide individual and group counseling, assist with crisis management, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
What You’ll Do:
• Conduct initial assessments and evaluations to determine service eligibility.
• Complete comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions at regularly scheduled intervals.
• Support patients in developing coping strategies and crisis management skills.
• Engage families and loved ones in the recovery process whenever possible.
• Participate in patient education initiatives and group activities.
• Work closely with doctors, nurses, and therapists to coordinate care and treatment plans.
What We’re Looking For:
• Education: Master’s degree in the human sciences field.
• Licensure: Full or provisional license in North Carolina (CADC, LCAS, or LCAS-A required).
• Experience: At least one year of experience working with medically assisted treatment (MAT) patients preferred.
• Qualities: Personable, adaptable, and coachable with a deep understanding of patients’ struggles and a passion for helping them recover.
• Compliance: Ability to pass a satisfactory background check and drug screening.
